The Rise of Angel Numbers in Fashion and Social Media

     Though angel numbers and numerology have had roots in various cultures for centuries, I, like many of my generation, did not know the significance of angel numbers until they started to grow popularity on social media through influencers such as Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber sporting angel number jewelry. After this, I began noticing the popularity of angel number jewelry, my "for you page" suddenly included posts about the poster seeing their angel numbers everywhere, and for the first time I began noticing/consciously aware of angel numbers in my own life.

After learning about the presence and significance of angel numbers, I had to do more research. Numerology is the belief in an occult or divine relationship between a number and coinciding events. It focuses on the study of numbers and their energetic influence on our lives. Angel numbers are then a series of repeated numbers (ex: 222) believed to be numbers carrying messages form the spiritual universe, offering insight, wisdom, and directionality. One may notice angel numbers in various places all around them such as clocks, receipts, license plates, etc. 


Though interpretations of angel numbers can vary, in my research, I found the following interpretations of angel numbers:

000: 

  • Signifies a fresh start.

111: 

  • Signifies a "green-light" from the universe to try new things and make intentions or wishes.
  • Manifestation
  • Alignment with the universe
  • Spiritual awakening

222: 

  • Signifies balance, trust, and alignment. 

333: 

  • Signifies creativity and the value of leaning into one's innate gifts.
  • Divine protection/guardian angels watching over you.
  • Expansion and growth in various aspects of life.
  • Encourages more open expression and communication.
  • Trinity symbolism - spiritual connection and unity.

444: 

  • Signifies stabilization and grounding.
  • Emphasizes the importance of asking for help. 

555: 

  • Signifies major changes on the horizon.

666: 

  • Although 666 carries religious associations with the Devil, in angel numbers it signifies a supportive, compassionate, and empathetic nature. 
  • It is a reminder to treat oneself with kindness. 

777: 

  • Signifies good fortune on the way. 
  • Encourages one to explore opportunities outside of their comfort zone. 
  • Spiritual enlightenment and awakening
  • Divine guidance
  • Intuition and insight
  • Alignment with one's life purpose

888: 

  • Symbolizes infinity, so can be sign of receiving supernatural support from loved ones who have passed on. 

999: 

  • Signifies the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new journey.
